Some 250 local Hispanic businesswomen will come together at an exhibition aimed to empower and offer a safe space for entrepreneurs.
For the third consecutive year the non-profit organization, Amhiga Hispana, will host Expo Amhiga on June 23 at the Radisson Hotel. The daylong event will showcase local businesses to give them exposure to new consumers and resources to grow to their full potential.
Amhiga Hispana is a women-led organization here in Austin, Texas that aims to empower and develop Spanish-speaking women. Expo-Amhiga will highlight various women that have successfully made their mark and are their own bosses. President of the organization, Yessica Avila, said, “It’s important for Hispanic women to have a space to be heard and seen. Expo Amhiga is doing that by hosting this space full of booths to purchase and display their products.”
The event also welcomes speaker and financial advisor, Andres Gutierrez, and invites attendees to partake in conversation and activities for all women who have set business goals and want to achieve them. There’s no limit on what products can be sold. As in prior years, variety has been abundant from jewelry, essential oils, hot sauce, beauty, hair workshops, and more.
Event coordinator Erika Martinez is continuously promoting Expo Amhiga through all their social media to encourage women entrepreneurs to grasp their helping hand and take the first step in building a successful business. “Each year we see more women come out and show their products, and I hope this year we make it to our goal of having 300 women at our event,” Martinez said.
